Dave has provided counsel to a diverse group of clients including General Motors, U.S. Army, S.C. Johnson, Walmart, Whirlpool, Kellogg’s, Cisco Systems, Johnson & Johnson, Michelin, Microsoft, Allstate, Nissan and Dairy Queen. He is author of the Association of National Advertisers’ triennial Trends in Agency Compensation surveys, and the latest ANA editions of Evaluating Agency Performance, and Agency Compensation: A Guidebook.

Prior to JLB+P, David was a Senior VP, Group Account Director at DDB. There, he worked with a variety of the country’s biggest and best-known advertisers, including Anheuser-Busch, McDonald’s, General Mills, and Campbell Soup Company.

David received a B.A. in International Affairs from the University of Colorado and a Masters Degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Mary is Managing Director of our firm and has been an experienced leader in each of our global and U.S. agency relationship practices for over 13 years.  Her clients have included GM, Levi Strauss, Walgreens, Four Seasons Resorts and Hotels, SC Johnson, Welch’s, Discover Financial Services, Johnson & Johnson, Walmart, Hormel, U.S. Army, Lenovo, Mercedes Benz, Mercy Healthcare, CDW, Del Monte, The Children’s Hospital of Denver, Choose Chicago Tourism, and many others.

Her background includes account management leadership positions at agencies DDB and FCB, where she worked on brands including McDonald’s, Maybelline, General Mills, Motorola, Dial, Kraft and Quaker Oats.  Mary also brings valuable client-side marketing experience as former VP of Marketing for Peapod, the industry’s first e-commerce grocery retailer.

Mary is the author of the ANA survey reports, Trends in Digital Agency Compensation and their most recent Insights Briefs on Evaluating Agency Performance. Mary is an undergraduate and graduate school alum of Northwestern University.

Brian joined JLB+P in 2004 after spending 30 years in leadership and management positions in St. Louis, Chicago and New York agencies including DDB; Wells, Rich, Greene; Bayer Bess Vanderwarker; and Hampel Stefanides. During the course of his agency career his client assignments included Anheuser-Busch, McDonald’s, Jack Daniels, General Mills, Quaker Oats, NEC, Neuberger Berman, ITT Hartford, among others.

As General Manager of JLB+P/New York, Brian has overseen assignments in each of the firm’s 3 practice areas—agency search, agency compensation, and agency relationship management. Global and U.S.-based clients include: GM, TD Ameritrade, Darden, GSK, Nissan, McCormick, Mercedes-Benz, Four Seasons Resorts and Hotels, Del Monte, People’s United Bank, Oppenheimer Fund, Hershey’s, McDonald’s and Sam’s Club.

Brian has authored ANA best practice Insights Briefs on Deciding When To Conduct and Agency Search, Organizing for an Agency Search and Selecting A New Agency.

In addition, Brian has served as a board member of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and the NARB. Brian attended the University of Missouri, receiving a Bachelor of Journalism and MA in Advertising.

Kim joined JLB+ Partners as global business director in 2010 after more than 25 years in leadership positions at two of Chicago’s largest advertising agencies. After a year in a new business role, Kim transitioned to client consulting, where she has focused on agency search, agency architecture optimization and performance evaluation engagements with clients including Walmart, Sam’s Club, State Farm, Amway, the Alzheimer’s Association and many others.

A former agency SVP Group Management Director, Kim brings extensive experience with global account organization and management. On the agency side, assignments included SC Johnson, Diners Club International and Haier (one China’s largest companies) as well as McDonald’s, General Mills, Anheuser-Busch and the Clorox Company. Kim also served as Director of Marketing for a Dallas-based technology company from startup through their IPO and secondary.

Kim attended St. Olaf College and DePaul University School of Law. She has been a guest lecturer on global marketing and advertising at Kellogg School of Management and DePaul University and has served as a frequent coach/trainer on agency relationship best practices for our JLB+P clients.

Mary (“Mo”) joined JLB+P in 2014 to open our new San Francisco office.  She brings over 30 years of deep agency leadership experience, most recently as Chairman DDB California.

Mary’s first experience opening successful offices was in 1996, when she helped launch DDB’s San Francisco office.  She was responsible for growing DDB’s presence on the west coast, including the successful global consolidation of the Clorox business and the expansion of the agency’s fully integrated service offering.

Prior to her DDB experience, Mary was with FCB San Francisco in account service.  While there, she managed iconic brands such as Levi Strauss, Taco Bell, Disney Interactive, The California Raisin Board, and many others.

She brings a wealth of experience in optimizing global agency service models and brings a sound knowledge of agency compensation fundamentals.  Her client-agency relationship management skills have already benefitted clients such as Cisco and City of Hope.

Mary graduated from Marquette University and received her Masters Degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Nina joined JLB+Partners in 2011 to introduce a Creative Management practice to our firm. This practice is unique in our consulting space and is born of our observation that we can often help clients forego an agency search if we can help them to understand and confront the issues that frequently surface between clients and their creative partners.

After attending Brooklyn College, Nina began her agency career as a writer and ultimately rose to Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of McCann Erickson in New York. Her highly successful stints at J. Walter Thompson, Y&R and McCann established her early on as an industry leader. Nina was the first female to be named Executive Creative Director of a major NYC agency. And, she has been honored by Fortune Magazine as one of “The 50 Most Powerful Women in American Business” and by Ad Age as one of “The 100 Most Influential Women In The History of Advertising”.

Her successful book “Seducing The Boys Club” was published by Random House in 2008. In it, she chronicles the difficulties women face in a male-dominated industry and offers an upbeat take on how women can rise to the top in spite of the obstacles they face.

Nina’s forte has been forming successful client-agency partnerships with demanding blue chip clients such as AT&T, MasterCard, Kraft, Verizon, and Nabisco. Since joining JLB+P, she has provided valuable Creative Management counsel to clients such as Kraft, Mondelez and Sam’s Club.

Since joining JLB+P in 2009, David has provided agency compensation counsel to Wal-Mart, Visa, Microsoft, Adobe, ConAgra, Alberto-Culver and SunTrust.  He also manages our Agency Contracting best practice services.

David brings extensive agency experience and an insider’s perspective to his Clients. His background includes thirty years at BBDO in financial management positions, including CFO of the Chicago office. His principle responsibilities included overseeing the negotiation and stewardship of all client compensation agreements, all aspects of the agency’s corporate budget and profit plan, and managing internal client profit and loss performance to ensure agency profitability.

Prior to joining JLB+P, David founded Ad Compensation, Inc. in 2003 to provide marketers with outside expertise and best practices in evaluating, negotiating, auditing and stewarding compensation agreements with their marketing services agencies to assure fair costs and best practices.  David began his career as an auditor with Arthur Anderson, LLP, a Certified Public Accounting firm.

David has a B.A. from Northwestern University.
